Converters Integrate 800 V MOSFET

STMicroelectronics’ VIPer17-series off-line switched-mode converters use an 800 V avalanche-rugged MOSFET and SMPS designs up to 12 W. The DIP- and SMD-packaged devices include adjustable over-voltage and overload protection, hysteretic over-temperature protection, two levels of over-current protection, and a fault-initiated auto-restart function. The converters utilize PWM operation with switching-frequency jittering at a fixed switching frequency of 60 or 115 kHz and a standby power consumption of 50 mW (30 mW in optimized transformer designs).
