Xilinx, Inc. introduces its XtremeDSP Solutions Starter Platform for implementing DSP designs using the Spartan-3A DSP family of FPGAs. The development platform supports industry-standard peripherals, connectors and interfaces. It is designed for use with the proprietary system generator for DSP and ISE software, and it provides the necessary hardware to evaluate the advanced features of the DSP family and to implement complete applications such as portable medical ultrasound, video surveillance and mobile software-defined radio systems. These types of application are characterized by the need for high DSP computational requirements while delivering power efficiency. A full JTAG interface for configuration and debug is also supported.
