Transmitter Provides Linear, Variable Gain



Mimix Broadband, Inc. introduces surface mount technology (SMT) packaged, gallium arsenide (GaAs) monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) receiver and transmitter devices that cover the 35 to 45 GHz and 36 to 42 GHz frequency bands, respectively. The image-reject receiver has a noise figure of 3.5 dB and 10 dB conversion gain with +5 dBm IIP3. The transmitter has a +17 dBm output OIP3 and 5 dB conversion gain across the band. The receiver integrates an image reject mixer, an LO doubler/buffer amplifier and a low noise amplifier. It is offered in a 7࡭ mm SMT high performance package. This receiver and transmitter pair, identified as XR1008-QB and XU1006-QB respectively, is suitable for wireless communications applications such as millimeter-wave point-to-point radio, local multipoint distribution services (LMDS), SATCOM and VSAT applications.
