Murata Electronics introduces single-band (SAFEB) and dual-band (SAWEP) SAW filters for use in cell phones, combining film micro-machining technology with high-density mounting capabilities and resin sealing. The SAFEB series is now available in the dimensions of 1.35 × 1.05 × 0.6 mm, weighing 0.3 mg. The SAWEP filters measure 2.0 × 1.6 × 0.6 mm with a weight of 6 mg. Additional benefits of the SAFEB and SAWEP series include easy installation and compatibility to global cellular standards. Both filters can be mounted with lead-free soldering, such as Sn-Ag-Cu, and can be installed with reflow soldering at the peak temperature of 260°.
